Intensive German Course B2 in Halle (S.)

The Intensive German Course B2 in Halle (Saale) is open to everyone interested in improving their German language skills intensively and reaching level B2. The course is suitable for international students and prospective students as well as anyone else who wants to develop their German skills. The course lasts 9 weeks and combines in-person classes, self-study time and targeted exam preparation. At the end of the course, you take the IDSK B2 exam.

What does the course include?

In the Intensive German Course B2, you will systematically develop all four language skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking. The aim of the course is to consolidate and further develop your German language skills at B2 level.

You will expand your vocabulary and deepen your knowledge of German grammar.
You will practise communicating confidently and effectively in German in everyday life, at university and at work.
You will train your ability to understand more demanding spoken and written German texts.
You will practise expressing yourself clearly, structurally and confidently in speaking and writing at B2 level.
You will learn how to express and justify your opinions on different topics and participate actively in discussions.
In addition, you will explore current topics related to Germany and engage with social, cultural and study-related issues.
Throughout the course, you will prepare specifically for the B2 exam and learn important exam strategies.
Classes take place in person four days a week. One additional day is reserved for self-study, including revision, vocabulary training, grammar exercises and further work on the course content.

Which certificate will I receive?

The Intensive German Course B2 concludes with an IDSK B2 exam. After successfully passing the exam, you will receive an IDSK certificate confirming your German language level B2.

What are the requirements?

The Intensive German Course B2 is suitable for participants aged 17 and over.

To participate in the B2 course, you need a B1 certificate. Ideally, you should have achieved at least 70% in each of the four examination sections: reading, listening, writing and speaking.

Can I apply for a visa under Section 16f of the German Residence Act (AufenthG) with this German course?

Yes. The Intensive German Course B2 at IDSK is generally suitable for applying for a visa under Section 16f of the German Residence Act (AufenthG). Whether a visa can be issued or extended depends on your individual situation and the decision of the responsible German diplomatic mission or foreigners’ authority.

The intensive course lasts 9 weeks and comprises 20 lesson units per week. The B2 course concludes with an IDSK examination at B2 level.
