Fit for Studying

Are you planning on taking part in an exchange program in Germany or even in Halle (Saale)? Sign up for this preparatory course and learn more about life and studies at a German university, improve your German skills, and explore the place where you will be studying before the semester starts.

Here’s what you can expect:

Class time

  • Placement test.
  • 09 a.m. – 12.15 p.m./ 01 p.m. – 02.30 p.m. communicative language classes at different levels.
  • Training of all four language skills – reading, listening, writing, and speaking.
  • Lessons in pronunciation by trained specialists (4 classes/ week).
  • Learning about current cultural and socio-political topics as well as history and current reality of Central Germany.
  • Language classes at different levels, focusing on topics that are especially relevant for studying at university.
  • Lots of free time activities that will show you the most beautiful places in Handel’s city, Halle.
  • German “Buddy”-students who will help you get started.
  • The course will end with a graded presentation.

    Field trips and free time

    • 2 days of field trips and lots of free time activities.
    • Good-bye party with everyone involved.
    • Support and help from international volunteers and student assistants.


    • This course is aimed at participants ages 17+.

    This course does not prepare students specifically for any official language test.
