German as an Academic Language

Here’s what you can expect:

Class time

• 09 a.m. – 12.15 p.m./ 01 p.m. – 02.30 p.m. communicative language classes
• Training of all four language skills – reading, listening, writing, and speaking.
  • Improve your reading comprehension of academic texts.
  • Broaden your understanding of language structures and vocabulary.
  • Learn techniques and linguistic devices to write academic texts.
  • Develop intercultural and linguistic skills needed at university.
• Lessons in pronunciation by trained specialists.
• This course takes place at the levels B2 – C2 and ends with a graded presentation.

Field trips and free time

• 2 days of field trips and lots of free time activities that will show you the most beautiful places in Handel’s city, Halle.
• Good-bye party with everyone involved.
• Support and help from international volunteers and student assistants.

Requirements

• This course is aimed at students 17 years old or older, international students, scientists, and exchange students.

This language course is not a preparation for an official language test.
