German+ Sustainability

The German Federal Environment Agency, Wittenberg’s public utility, a producer of sustainable energy storage systems, and the FairTrade label will be a part of exploring questions of sustainability today. The language learning component of this course will revolve around the course’s topic. We will also benefit from hearing from participants as they report about their own countries’ experiences.

Here’s what you can expect:

Class time

• 09 a.m. – 12.15 p.m./ 01 p.m. – 02.30 p.m. communicative language classes at the levels B2/C2.
• Training of all four language skills – reading, listening, writing, and speaking – in connection to the course’s topic.
• Lessons in pronunciation by trained specialists (4 classes/ week).
• Learning about current cultural and socio-political topics as well as history and current reality of the area around Wittenberg.
• Work on projects & final exam.

Field trips and free time

• 2 days of field trips and lots of free time activities.
• Good-bye party with everyone involved.
• Support and help from international volunteers and student assistants.

Requirements

• This course is aimed at participants ages 17+.

This course does not prepare students specifically for any official language test.
