German as an Academic Language

If you are studying German for academic purposes, whether to study at a German university, to prepare for writing your thesis, or to improve your comprehension and production of academic texts, this ist just the course for you.

Here’s what you can expect:

Class time

  • 08 a.m. – 11.15 a.m. or 02 p.m. – 5.15 p.m. communicative language classes
  • Training of all four language skills – reading, listening, writing, and speaking.
    • Improve your reading comprehension of academic texts.
    • Broaden your understanding of language structures and vocabulary.
    • Learn techniques and linguistic devices to write academic texts.
    • Develop intercultural and linguistic skills needed at university.
  • Lessons in pronunciation by trained specialists.
  • Individual counseling to improve your language abilities.
  • This course takes place at the levels B2 – C2 and ends with a graded presentation.

Time for Self-Study

Please plan to spend the same amount of time for homework and review outside of class as you spend in class.
